residencies

In-school sessions taught by SF Shakes’ teaching artists.

Consisting of four or more sessions (typically 1-hour classes) and catered to enhance your curriculum and aligned with the Common Core in subjects such as English, History and Theater Arts, Residencies are an interactive series of classes that bring Shakespeare to life for students of all backgrounds and levels of interest. These in-depth modules help students gain skill and enthusiasm, and can be carefully crafted to the needs of your classroom.

Our teaching artists partner with classroom teachers in core curriculum subjects such as English and History, using arts-based approaches that support state-mandated curriculum and teacher professional development. We can also partner with teachers in theater-related subjects like Acting and Stage Combat in our Theater Residencies.

For inquiries or to book a Residency, contact us at education@sfshakes.org or 415-558-0888.

Most of our residencies can be taught either in-person or virtually.
We recommend most programs for grades 4-12, but we can customize programs for younger students.
Pricing varies based on number of sessions, number of students/classes, number of teaching artists needed, required materials, and transportation.
