Upstart Crows is our summer camp for teens aged 14-18 who are ready to get into the act and have some fun performing Shakespeare. They explore Shakespeare’s text, themes and language, enhance their performance abilities, expand their vocal and movement skills, learn advanced stage combat, and develop audition technique. In 2022, Crows performed in their own adaptation of Shakespeare’s comedy, Much Ado About Nothing – the same show we staged for that year’s Free Shakespeare in the Park.

Camp sessions are weekdays from 9am to 3pm, and a typical camp day begins with a half hour of warmups followed by breaking up into smaller groups to rotate between three one-hour classes with a half-hour lunch break.  The afternoon concludes with a two-hour rehearsal for the final performance.  Pre-care is available beginning at 8:30am and aftercare is available until 5:30pm, and both are now included in the price of enrollment, as are all scripts, costumes, and supplies.
