2013 Shakespeare
Sprites (Ages 4 to 6)
A fun and creative introduction to performance and theater designed specifically for ages 4-6. This program does not require reading skills and is active and engaging for younger campers. Shakespeare Sprites engage in exciting arts projects based on well-known characters from Shakespeare’s plays. On the final day, Sprites host an open class for family and friends. Meets for two weeks, Mon-Fri, 9:00 am - Noon.

2013 Shakespeare
Players (Ages 7 to 13)
Each two-week session presents a series of structured, performance-oriented workshops under the guidance of trained Shakespeare Festival staff. Each camp finishes with a shortened performance of a Shakespeare play, staged and acted by campers for an audience of family and friends. The performances conclude with a celebratory cast party. These educational camps are appropriate for first timers as well as more experienced young actors. Players Camps meet for two weeks, Mon-Fri, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm; optional aftercare until 5:30 at all Players Camp locations.

Camp for ages 12 to 18)
Two-week camps are designed to help aspiring thespians develop voice and movement skills and delve more deeply into understanding Shakespeare's language while having fun with their peers. Training in stage combat, and audition techniques is also included. Each
camp concludes with a performance for families and friends.

Advanced Shakespeare Workshop (audition and interview required to enroll; 2013 audition date May 5, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm; send email to schedule an audition)
This conservatory-style program includes intensive voice, movement, text, stage combat, mask, and monologue and scene work, and culminates in a showcase on the final Friday. Participants will also have the chance to present their work in other venues, such as the San Francisco Theatre Festival and Free Shakespeare in the Park. Participation in ASW is by audition only. The dates for the 2013 two-week session are July 15-26; the session will be held at Unitarian Universalists of San Francisco, 1187 Franklin Street.
Two week session: $489.
We also offer an EXTENDED version of ASW. After the first two weeks, actors have the option to stay on for an additional two weeks and rehearse an hour-long version of a Shakespeare play. This show will be fully staged, with costumes, props, and scenery provided by the Festival, and have multiple performances. This month-long intensive will be available to any young actor accepted to the ASW. Please note that you must be a part of the initial two-week training course to be a part of the full production - you cannot attend for only the last two weeks.The dates for the 2013 four-week session are July 15-Aug 9; the session will be held at Unitarian Universalists of San Francisco, 1187 Franklin Street.

Intersession Camp replicates our summer camp sessions. The Fall 2013 session meets October 14-25, 2013, weekdays from 9 am - 3 pm (optional aftercare until 5:30 pm).
